Job Description

The role of a Senior Mechanical Engineer II is a pivotal position within the engineering department of any forward-thinking organization. This position involves the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. A Senior Mechanical Engineer II is expected to lead projects and teams, guide less experienced engineers through complex engineering challenges, and contribute to the creation of innovative solutions using advanced mechanical engineering principles. The role demands a robust combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities. The person in this role is often responsible for ensuring that all engineering projects comply with industry standards and safety regulations while delivering successful project outcomes within stipulated timelines and budgets.


Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, prototypes, and products using engineering expertise.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in completing engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Perform complex mechanical analysis and calculations for system design validation.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and provide professional development sessions.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
  • Develop project timelines and budgets to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Conduct failure analysis and provide technical insights for corrective actions.
  • Establish engineering specifications and design standards to maintain quality control.
  • Research and integrate new technologies and materials into mechanical designs.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations for all projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailor-made solutions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex engineering challenges.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in leading engineering projects and teams.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including safety and compliance protocols.
  • Strong communication skills with the capability to present technical information clearly.
