Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and related documents to accurately assess scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to gather necessary data for estimation.
- Review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure alignment with project budgets and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain estimation databases, tools, and templates to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in tendering processes, preparing bid documents and responding to client queries.
- Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with project estimates.
- Support value engineering initiatives by proposing cost-effective alternatives and solutions.
- Present and defend estimates to internal stakeholders and clients as required.
- Stay updated on industry trends, cost benchmarks, and best practices in mechanical estimation.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in mechanical estimation within the engineering or construction industry.
- Proven track record of preparing accurate and competitive mechanical cost estimates.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimation assignments simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Familiarity with tendering processes and contract documentation.
