Job Purpose
Supervising and leading mechanical maintenance operations to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of equipment and systems, and improving technical and economic performance in accordance with company strategies and best engineering practices.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with approved policies, processes, procedures and instructions.
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and practices, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and efficiency.
Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards within the water transport company and related roles such as (human capital, safety, industrial security, risks, cybersecurity, etc.).
Escalating problems to ensure challenges and issues are closed efficiently and in a timely manner.
Supervising the implementation of occupational safety systems and regulations, monitoring compliance with health and safety requirements, and establishing preventive measures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
Leading the development and implementation of emergency maintenance plans, reviewing business continuity plans, and taking the necessary measures to ensure a rapid response to emergency breakdowns and minimize downtime.
Supervising the planning and execution of preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance work, monitoring equipment performance and analyzing faults, and ensuring that repair and rehabilitation work is carried out efficiently by internal teams or suppliers and contractors, thereby ensuring operational continuity, increasing asset reliability, and reducing downtime.
Key Roles and Responsibilities 2
Coordination with relevant departments and stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure efficient maintenance work, address operational and technical challenges, and comply with governance, business continuity, internal audit, and other requirements.
Supervising the preparation and analysis of all maintenance reports and ensuring data accuracy to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
Guiding engineering and technical teams, evaluating performance, providing necessary training for engineers and technicians, and motivating teams to achieve operational and technical goals.
Supervising the daily activities of mechanical maintenance during annual repair/shutdown periods by assigning specific tasks to technicians while ensuring coordination between shifts.
Ensuring coverage for all maintenance work orders assigned to the mechanical maintenance technician.
Monitoring scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance performed by external suppliers and completing performance evaluation records in accordance with established guidelines and ensuring the safety of workers, the safety of equipment, and the quality of work.
Providing support and assistance to other transportation systems.
Participating in the work of committees (internal and external).

Supervising the management of spare parts and materials inventory in terms of planning, analysis, disbursement, inventory, and purchasing, and ensuring the availability of materials of the required quality and in a timely manner, while adhering to approved budgets and achieving economic and operational efficiency.
Supervising the implementation of operational projects, reviewing the scope of work, approving engineering modifications to improve equipment performance, and ensuring their implementation in accordance with technical standards.
He makes sure that the technicians use the appropriate equipment for the work they do.
It helps in providing the number and tools used by technicians and replacing them if their performance becomes unsafe.
He continues to enter maintenance information into the computer.
Preparing and supervising the implementation of projects related to the department.

Education Requirements
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Relevant fields
