Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The MEP Manager will lead and oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) activities throughout the design and construction phases of a large-scale mixed-use development in Armenia. This role requires ensuring technical excellence, design integrity, and full compliance with project objectives, budgets, and schedules. The successful candidate will act as the client’s technical representative, guiding consultants and contractors to achieve coordinated, efficient, and sustainable MEP solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

• Design Management: Oversee the design consultants’ MEP deliverables from concept through IFC, ensuring alignment with the project vision and technical standards. • Coordination & Integration: Facilitate coordination between MEP, architectural, structural, and interior design teams to deliver fully integrated design packages. • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, BMS (Building Management Systems), etc. • MEP Team Management: Lead and mentor the MEP team, including engineers and inspectors, fostering a collaborative working environment. • Quality Assurance: Review design documents, technical reports and shop drawings to ensure compliance with design intent, codes and client requirements. • Consultant & Contractor Oversight: Manage MEP consultants and monitor contractors’ technical submittals, ensuring adherence to performance specifications and scope. • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with client representatives, design teams, and the project management office to resolve design and interface issues proactively. • Regulatory & Code Compliance: Ensure that all MEP designs meet Armenian codes, regulations, and environmental requirements. • Sustainability Focus: Promote energy-efficient and sustainable design strategies in alignment with project sustainability targets. • Budget & Schedule Monitoring: Support cost and schedule control through regular design and technical reviews. • Risk & Change Management: Identify potential design risks and manage change control for MEP scope efficiently. • Testing & Commissioning: Supervise the testing and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and function efficiently.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (Master’s preferred). • Minimum 15 years of experience in MEP design management, ideally within large mixed use or commercial projects. • Strong understanding of MEP systems integration, sustainable design, and commissioning processes. • Proven experience working with international consultants and contractors. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), BIM, and related design coordination tools. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder coordination skills. • Fluency in English; Armenian/Russian is an advantage
