JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Morpheus Automation Engineer with strong experience in the Morpheus platform and a solid Linux background. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting our Morpheus environment, with a particular focus on Morpheus APIs, automation workflows, and troubleshooting cluster components.

This role is hands-on and will work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver a reliable, automated, and self-service infrastructure platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Morpheus Platform Ownership
• Administer, configure, and maintain the Morpheus platform across multiple environments.
• Design and manage Morpheus clouds, groups, tenants, roles, and blueprints.
• Implement governance, policies, and role-based access controls in Morpheus.
• Morpheus APIs & Automation
• Develop and maintain automation using Morpheus REST APIs for provisioning, lifecycle management, and integration with other systems (e.g., ITSM, CI/CD, monitoring).
• Build reusable workflows, tasks, and automation jobs to standardize VM and application deployments.
• Integrate Morpheus with external tools and services via API (e.g., CMDB, IPAM, monitoring, security tools).
• Cluster & Platform Troubleshooting
• Support and troubleshoot Morpheus cluster components, including appliances, worker nodes, and dependent services.
• Diagnose performance, connectivity, and stability issues across the Morpheus platform and underlying infrastructure.
• Work with vendors as needed to resolve complex platform or cluster issues.
• Linux Systems Engineering
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux servers (preferably RHEL-based or similar) that underpin the Morpheus environment and workloads.
• Implement OS-level hardening, patching, and baseline configuration for Linux systems.
• Develop shell scripts and automation to support system configuration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
• Standards, Documentation & Best Practices
• Document platform designs, standards, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of infrastructure automation standards and patterns.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training to other team members and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Morpheus Platform
• Hands-on experience administering the Morpheus cloud management platform in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of Morpheus concepts: clouds, groups, tenants, roles, policies, blueprints, and tasks.
• Experience managing Morpheus in a clustered / HA setup is highly desirable.
• Morpheus APIs & Automation
• Practical experience using the Morpheus REST API for automation and integration.
• Ability to read and write JSON, understand API payloads, and handle authentication (API keys/tokens).
• Experience building automation workflows and tasks within Morpheus (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar).
• Linux Expertise
• Strong Linux skills (e.g. RHEL, Rocky, Oracle Linux, or similar distributions).
• Proficiency in shell scripting (bash/sh) for automation and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of system services, networking basics (DNS, routing, firewalls), package management, and systemd.
• Troubleshooting & Operations
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex platform issues, including cluster components and integrations.
• Ability to systematically diagnose problems across application, OS, and network layers.
• Familiarity with logs, monitoring tools, and basic performance tuning on Linux.
