Roles & Responsibilities
In light of the deteriorating situation across the Middle East, the Level 2 Emergency Procedures were activated effective 02 March 2026 for all sub regional crisis affected operations for a period of three months (until 02 June 2026) to ensure streamlined, predictable and forward leaning response measures. This activation enables fast tracked processes to be able to respond to the emergency swiftly and enable a more streamlined, predictable and forward-leaning response. Regional and HQ teams are mobilizing to support affected Country Offices, with a joint review planned before June to assess the need for extension and ensure continued operational relevance. The Risk Management Unit objective is to utilize the capacity of this TA to advance on data analytics that can be a critical tool to identify risks arising from Partnerships with CSO and Government entities to enable country offices to reduce such risks and manage further consequences.
The Senior Operations Associate (Digital Platforms) provides technical and operational support to country offices and the regional office for eTools and UNPP across all locations. The role ensures the timely and effective resolution of incidents, service requests, and user queries, and contributes to the efficient delivery and continuous improvement of digital platform operations and services.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Responsive, high quality technical and analytical support is consistently delivered to platform users, ensuring continuity of operations, effective issue resolution, and a positive service experience aligned with established service standards.
- Service delivery performance and platform utilization are systematically monitored, analysed, and reported using defined performance indicators to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Advanced data analytics and Power BI based business intelligence products are developed and maintained on a recurring basis to support evidence based planning, risk informed decision making, and management oversight at regional and country levels.
- Digital platform procedures, technical reference materials, and training resources are developed, updated, and governed to strengthen institutional knowledge, promote consistent platform usage, and enhance user competency across offices.
- Additional cross cutting analytical, digital platform, and operational assignments are undertaken as required, contributing to emerging priorities, system enhancements, and the effective functioning of risk management and oversight processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum requirements
- Education : Secondary Education in any related fields.
- Work Experience : At least 7 years of relevant work experience in Operations, operations management, technical support, service delivery management, incident management, data analytics, business intelligence, digital platforms, information technology, risk management, knowledge management. and any other related fields.
- Skills : Experience includes office software proficiency, database concepts, Power BI analytics, technical customer support, business-facing support, and enterprise applications knowledge, considered an asset.
- Language Requirements : Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Desirables
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
- Data analysis, SharePoint expertise, API integration, Power BI, Power Automate, Project management support.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
