Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Perform PCB layout design for advanced network processing boards integrating FPGAs, CPUs, and high-speed PHY modules.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate complex schematics into optimized manufacturable PCB layouts.
Define and implement stack-ups, impedance-controlled routing, and constraint rules for differential pairs, clocks, and high-speed signals.
Use Cadence Allegro and Altium Designer to execute full-cycle PCB layout with advanced rule-setting and Constraint Manager workflows.
Establish and maintain layout constraints for signal integrity, spacing, and routing topologies.
Perform DRC/ERC checks and generate fabrication and assembly outputs (Gerber, ODB++, drill files, pick-and-place, etc.).
Manage ECAD libraries and ensure IPC-compliant footprints and symbols.
Work with SI/PI engineers to validate signal and power integrity and implement improvements.
Coordinate with fabrication and assembly vendors for DFM/DFA reviews.
Participate in cross-functional design reviews considering mechanical, thermal, and electrical factors.
Support prototype bring-up, debugging, and resolution of layout-related issues including EMI.
Maintain version-controlled documentation, constraint files, and revision history.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of hands-on experience in PCB layout for complex high-speed digital systems.
Advanced proficiency in Cadence Allegro and Altium Designer.
Exertise in using Constraint Manager for electrical, physical, and spacing rules.
Strong capability in routing high-speed differential pairs, controlled-impedance traces, and low-noise PDN structures.
Deep understanding of stack-ups, blind/buried vias, and UHDI techniques.
Experience collaborating with mechanical, FPGA, and embedded software teams.
Strong knowledge of PCB materials (FR4, Megtron, Rogers) and manufacturing tolerances.
Ability to produce clear BOMs, documentation, and layout reports.
Preferred Skills
Experience designing boards for Ethernet, PCIe, SerDes, and next-gen PHY systems.
Exposure to high-layer-count and backplane/interposer architectures.
Familiarity with thermal design and EMI/EMC mitigation.
Knowledge of version control for ECAD data (Git, SVN, etc.).
Strong analytical and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
