Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1. Project Analysis
   • Analyze and assess the project scope, deliverables, and constraints to establish clear planning requirements.
   • Determine the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequencing of activities for each project stage in coordination with the Project Manager.
   • Identify critical paths, interfaces, and dependencies among design, procurement, and execution phases.
   • Evaluate the impact of changes, delays, or constraints on the overall schedule and recommend recovery or mitigation actions.
   • Participate in project risk analysis related to time and resource allocation.
2. Project Planning and Scheduling
   • Develop comprehensive baseline programs (Level 1 4) using Primavera P6 or equivalent, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and company standards.
   • Prepare detailed schedules, manpower histograms, resource loading charts, and procurement plans.
   • Verify estimated timescales and make necessary adjustments in coordination with the Head of Planning and Project Manager.
   • Prepare planning reports such as manpower requirement schedules, material procurement schedules, and project progress curves.
   • Ensure that critical paths and key milestones are fully reflected in the timeline.
   • Update detailed schedules periodically and identify variances from the original plan.
   • Support tender and pre-construction stages by developing bid programs, project methodologies, and planning deliverables.
   • Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper alignment between planning data, construction progress, and cost control.
3. Project Monitoring and Reporting
   • Monitor project progress periodically and compare actual performance with the baseline schedule.
   • Conduct delay and progress analyses to identify trends, slippages, and potential risks.
   • Set up alerts for all key contractual milestones and critical deadlines.
   • Recommend corrective measures or alternative work sequences to mitigate delays.
   • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including S-curves, dashboards, and executive summaries.
   • Prepare project closing and post-evaluation reports, identifying lessons learned and improvement opportunities for future projects.
   • Provide reliable progress data and forecasting support to management for decision-making.
4. Coordination and Communication
   • Liaise closely with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure synchronization of schedules and deliverables.
   • Interface with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on planning and progress-related matters.
   • Assist the Head of Planning and Project Manager in progress review meetings, presenting up-to-date planning metrics and analysis.
   • Mentor junior planning engineers to ensure consistency in planning practices across projects.
