Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support civil construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
- Review project specifications, BOQs, and drawings to identify material requirements and procurement needs.
- Source, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers in line with project requirements.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze quotations, conduct bid evaluations, and recommend suppliers/subcontractors.
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and payment terms with vendors to ensure favorable commercial and technical conditions.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, and site teams to forecast procurement needs and avoid delays.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and delivery standards.
- Manage purchase orders, subcontracts, and maintenance contracts for company assets and equipment.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and vendor databases.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, disputes, and non-compliance cases in collaboration with legal and project stakeholders.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and local/international regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 6 8 years of procurement experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proven track record in sourcing civil works materials, subcontractors, and specialized construction equipment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and contract management skills.
- Familiarity with FIDIC conditions and construction contract terms.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / similar) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commercial awareness.
