Position Title: Senior Production Engineer (Workshop Repair / Production - Transformer)
Job Location: Saudi Arabia
Job Purpose
The Senior Production Engineer is responsible for leading and managing transformer repair workshop operations,
ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of production activities across onsite and o�site projects.
Key responsibilities include team leadership, production planning, technical support, material coordination, and
compliance with quality, safety, and ISO standards. The role also involves driving operational efficiency,
improving delivery performance, and supporting reverse engineering and failure analysis activities.
Key Accountabilities
Production Planning & Execution
Develop production schedules, capacity planning, and man-hour estimates.
Prepare factory loading charts and bi-weekly L1 production plans.
Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to timelines and OTD targets.
Transformer Repair & Technical Support
Oversee transformer repair workshop activities and job execution.
Review and approve transformer inspection and failure analysis reports.
Provide technical support in reverse engineering and troubleshooting.
Ensure knowledge application in VPD and autoclave oven operations.
Material & Resource Management
Manage material planning for ongoing work orders across di�erent ratings and capacities.
Control MRP processes, including PR creation and procurement coordination.
Ensure availability of raw materials, tools, and consumables at all workstations.
Monitor inventory usage, cost control, and material quality compliance.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all activities comply with company quality, safety, and ISO standards.
Maintain and update production procedures, work instructions, and checklists.
Ensure proper documentation control for drawings, work orders, and design data.
Enforce safe storage and handling of in-process materials.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and other interfacing departments.
Collect and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
Maintain shift rosters, overtime records, and production communication flow.
People & Operations Management
Supervise shift supervisors and technicians to ensure productivity and discipline.
Support training, development, and performance monitoring of workshop.
Drive operational excellence and workforce efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering
10–15 years of experience in transformer manufacturing/repair or heavy electrical production environment
Experience in workshop management and production planning is essential

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience:

Proven experience in managing repair projects and shop-floor activities
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of transformer repair, testing, and troubleshooting
Experience in failure analysis and reverse engineering
Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and process optimization
Familiarity with VPD, autoclave, and transformer manufacturing processes
Knowledge of MRP systems, material control, and inventory management
Good understanding of ISO standards and quality systems
Leadership & Management Skills:
Experience managing large workshop teams (30+ workforce)
Strong capability in shift management, workforce planning, and productivity control
Ability to drive discipline, performance, and team development
Operational Strengths:
Strong focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery
Ability to handle production pressure and meet tight deadlines
Experience in cost control and improving operational efficiency
Continuous improvement mindset (Lean manufacturing awareness preferred)
