Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage project accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and variance reports, providing insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Review and approve project-related invoices and expenses, ensuring adherence to project contracts and company policies.
- Manage project cost control, identifying and mitigating potential financial risks and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and project profitability.
- Ensure accurate and timely project revenue recognition, in accordance with accounting principles.
- Lead and participate in project audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Develop and maintain project accounting procedures and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Continuously improve project accounting processes, identifying and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Demonstrates a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in project accounting or a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
- Exhibits strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and project accounting methodologies.
- Experience with project accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Displays excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with various stakeholders.
- Exhibits a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in the construction, engineering, or technology industries is a plus.
