Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering large-scale steel construction and fabrication projects, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, cost control, and client satisfaction. The role provides full ownership of project execution, including planning, resource management, financial performance, contract administration, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end execution of projects from initiation to close-out.

  • Develop and implement project strategies aligned with contractual obligations and business objectives.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Establish project governance, reporting structures, and performance tracking mechanisms.

Planning & Resource Management

  • Develop comprehensive project programs, schedules, and resource plans.

  • Allocate manpower, plant, machinery, and materials efficiently.

  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to address risks, delays, or changes.

Financial & Cost Control

  • Manage project budgets, cash flow, and cost forecasts.

  • Monitor financial performance and ensure profitability targets are achieved.

  • Evaluate variations, claims, and disruptions, ensuring proper documentation and recovery.

Construction & Site Management

  • Oversee all construction and steel erection activities.

  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.

  • Conduct regular site reviews to ensure quality and progress targets are met.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Lead contract administration, including:

    • Change management

    • Claims and dispute resolution

    • Subcontractor agreements

  • Ensure contractual compliance and protect company interests.

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and authorities.

  • Ensure timely approvals, inspections, and project deliverables.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce QA/QC procedures and quality assurance systems.

  • Conduct constructability reviews and ensure adherence to international standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and execution.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Establish and implement a comprehensive HSE management plan.

  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project teams.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards.

Procurement & Logistics

  • Develop and manage procurement strategies for materials and subcontractors.

  • Ensure timely sourcing, delivery, and quality of materials.

  • Establish efficient logistics plans for all project phases.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead high-performing project teams.

  • Define organizational structure and roles for project execution.

  • Mentor and develop team members to enhance performance and capability.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering

  • Professional certifications (PMP, UPDA/MMUP) are an advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in:

    • Construction / steel fabrication / infrastructure projects

  • Minimum 6 years in a managerial role

  • GCC experience (minimum 3 years preferred)

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in:

    • Steel construction, fabrication, and erection methodologies

    • Project planning, scheduling, and cost control

  • Proficiency in:

    • Project management tools (Primavera, MS Project)

    • ERP systems (SAP preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Contract management and claims handling

    • Construction methodologies and engineering systems

    • Financial and commercial management
