Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Study tender documentation to gain a clear overall understanding and to fully appreciate the technical and commercial requirements to gain an appreciation of the construction method
  • Prepare and dispatch standard sub-contract invitations to bid packages
  • Evaluate bids, both commercially and technically, and compile the bid tabulation with recommendation for the preferred sub-contractor in the tender resume
  • Review the bid tabulation from Procurement for materials purchase to assess the technical/commercial merit of the recommended bids and reflect recommendations in the tender resume
  • Attend client meetings with the Manager, if required, to clarify queries related to commercial and technical issues
  • Prepare estimates of all costs related to NMDC Energy activities and refer to estimation Draughtsman for the determination of manpower and materials requirements, using computer-based norms
  • Prepare tender resume (cost summary) for consideration by manager
  • Prepare a synopsis of the tender requirements. Include such clauses as terms of payment, insurance, liabilities, warranties, liquidated damages and bonds
  • Consult with the Legal Advisor to ensure NDMC position is fully protected
  • Collate and prepare the technical and commercial proposals, in line with client requirements, and pass to manager for review prior to sign-off and submission to client
  • Prepare technical and commercial documents following award of contract for handover to Project Manager, Accounts and relevant operational departments
  • Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard
