Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, packaging, equipment, and services to support business operations. This role involves sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring market trends, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods at the most competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement cycle from identifying needs, issuing purchase requests, sourcing suppliers, to negotiating contracts and finalizing purchases.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and favorable terms.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers, alternative materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics and finance departments to ensure smooth customs clearance, supplier payments, and shipment follow-ups.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, and service.
- - Manage and resolve issues related to delivery delays, defective materials, or non-compliance.
- - Assist in forecasting demand and planning purchasing schedules to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- - Prepare and analyze procurement reports to monitor spending, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- - Support continuous improvement projects in procurement and supply chain efficiency.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3 5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures in Egypt is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
