Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of detailed tender submissions including cost estimates, bills of quantities, and commercial proposals.
  • Analyze tender documents (drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, contract conditions) to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and obtain pricing information.
  • Prepare and submit tender reports including recommendations and commercial strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for tender projects.
  • Monitor market rates and material costs to maintain up-to-date pricing databases.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth transition from tender to project execution.
  • Maintain records of tender submissions, variations, and correspondence for audit purposes.
  • Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and estimators.
  • Assist in post-tender negotiations and contract finalizations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and relevant legislation.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a tender/commercial role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, contract types, and commercial principles.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
