Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures. This includes finding and managing all the costs of the project and doing a cost-benefit analysis. The role involves ensuring that all projects are completed within budget and on time. You will also be responsible for managing contractual agreements and advising on procurement strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit bills of quantities.
- Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
- Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents.
- Advise on procurement strategy.
- Analyze completed projects to compare budgets with actual costs and find ways to minimize costs.
- Provide advice on contractual claims.
- Manage contractual relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Identify, assess and report on commercial risks.
- Manage and resolve contractual and commercial issues.
- Ensure that a high standard of health and safety is maintained.
- Prepare monthly reports on project status.
- Manage and mentor junior quantity surveyors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Excellent knowledge of contract law and procurement.
- Proficiency in cost management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
