Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including new builds and refurbishments.

Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects from inception to completion.

Conduct regular cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments to ensure projects remain within budget.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to provide accurate cost advice and resolve financial issues.

Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements to ensure favorable terms and compliance.

Monitor project progress, track variations, and prepare interim and final valuations for payment applications.

Produce and present detailed reports on project costs, cash flow forecasts, and financial status to management.

Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Advise on procurement strategies and assist in the selection and appointment of contractors and suppliers.

Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum of 2 years and up to 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.

Proven track record of managing costs and contracts for architectural or construction projects.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.

Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial documentation.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a hybrid work arrangement.

Commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
