Roles & Responsibilities

Description

Utilize the pre-defined critical contingency list (e.g., N-1 contingencies for major lines, transformers, generators) and any ad-hoc contingencies requested by Operational Planning or Control Engineers.

Execute steady-state contingency analysis using PowerFactory/EMS and identify post contingency violations such as thermal overloads, voltage limit breaches, and reactive power deficiencies.

Determine the severity and potential impact of identified violations on grid security.

Conduct load flow studies for peak, off peak, planned outage, and near term operational scenarios.

Simulate the impact of proposed operational changes (e.g., generator dispatch adjustments, line re-configurations) on system flows and voltages.

Conduct P-V (Power-Voltage) or Q-V (Reactive Power-Voltage) analysis to determine voltage stability margins.

Evaluate the system's reactive power reserves and identify any deficiencies.

Provide intraday and short term operational study updates during periods of network outages, high load, high RES variability, or stressed system conditions.

All intraday study reports, recommendations, and associated data files shall be archived in a designated secure location (e.g., shared network drive, document management system).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering

Professional Experience

Minimum of 5+ years experience in interconnected power system operations in relevant field including 3 year in system studies and simulations.
