Overview

AtkinsR alis is looking for a Resident MEP Engineer, in Saudi Arabia, UAE.

Your role

  • Oversee the erection, testing, and commissioning of Package Units, Ducted Split units, EOT Cranes, and Electric Monorail Hoists.
  • Coordinate inspections with subcontractors and manufacturers to ensure compliance with safety requirements and quality standards.
  • Resolve site-related issues by coordinating with subcontractors and clients.
  • Prepare red-marked and as-built drawings for MEP services.
  • Manage the complete testing and commissioning of fire protection systems, including the installation and testing of sprinkler systems, wet pilot sprinkler piping systems, deluge piping works, fire main line piping works, and fire pumps.
  • Review HVAC ducting layouts, design load calculations, CO2 ventilation calculations, and other system drawings as per client specifications and standards.
  • Follow up with owners/engineers for timely approval of material submittals and drawings, conducting meetings and visiting their offices to address comments and concerns.
  • Coordinate with civil teams for HVAC/firefighting system openings and false ceiling work.
  • Check and review water system P&ID, fire pump room layouts, sprinkler layouts, transformer deluge layouts, CO2 system P&ID, CO2 layouts, and fire alarm layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with various standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME, BS, and other applicable standards for quality deliverables.
  • Oversee the erection activities of electric, diesel, and jockey pumps, coordinating with duct erection works to avoid clashes with other utilities.
  • Manage the erection, testing, and commissioning of package units and ducted split units in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers.

About you

  • Bachelor s degree or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP engineering, with a focus on erection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, fire protection systems, and relevant standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME, BS).
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively with subcontractors, clients, and civil teams.
  • Proven ability to prepare and review technical drawings and calculations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
