Roles & Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer at Aspire, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable web applications. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver solutions that align with the company mission to empower small and medium enterprises globally.

What you ll do

Lead the end-to-end development of complex web applications using PHP and modern frameworks like Laravel.
Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that meet evolving business needs.
Collaborate across product, design, and engineering teams to define technical solutions and deliver new features.
Optimize MySQL database performance, design schemas, and ensure efficient query execution.
Contribute to Agile development cycles including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Conduct peer code reviews, uphold coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services as needed.
Stay up to date with emerging trends in web development and recommend tools and frameworks to enhance team productivity.
Ensure compliance with the company s security policies and industry best practices.

What you ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications with PHP.
Proficiency in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or similar.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and MVC architecture.
Deep experience with MySQL including schema design, performance tuning, and complex query optimization.
Proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with front-end frameworks like ReactJS is a plus.
Version control experience with Git and collaboration tools such as GitHub or GitLab.
Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow secure development practices.
Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Previous experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Awareness or knowledge of IT security best practices as defined by ISO/SOC or similar.
