Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Assist logistics project managers and teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics projects to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Resource Coordination: Collaborate with various teams and departments to allocate and manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project requirements.
- Performance Tracking: Help establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of logistics projects and identify areas for improvement.
- Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with project stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, and assisting in addressing any issues or concerns.
- Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with third-party logistics providers and suppliers, ensuring they align with project objectives and quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in project delivery and support the development of risk mitigation strategies.
- Budget Assistance: Assist in managing budgets for logistics projects, tracking expenses, and providing financial information as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry best practices and technology trends, actively seeking opportunities to enhance logistics processes and contribute to process improvements.
Project Management
- Ensure projects are correctly scoped and defined, with clear objectives, appropriate workstreams and activities.
- Create project plans in accordance with the required project activity and workstreams, ensuring that project teams are resourced correctly.br> Manage projects to cost, quality and time, following the agreed framework and governance into each project.
- Coordinate internal workstreams/resources and third-party vendors in line with defined project deliverables.
- Apply problem solving skills to resolve any roadblocks that arise, escalating in a timely manner any issues that may affect delivery.
- Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment and handoff to support.
- Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues. br> Conduct rigorous assessment of project risks, monitor and control until project closure/handover, highlighting any deviances or issues as appropriate in a timely manner.
Communication
- Establish collaborative relationships and maintain a strong level of communication with internal stakeholders, external customers, and suppliers as appropriate.
- Ensure key stakeholders in the customer organization are kept well informed at each stage of the project and that any questions or concerns they have, along with actions and commitments, are br> followed up in a timely manner.
- Schedule and facilitate project meetings, steering committees and other meetings as required, preparing presentations and materials as necessary.
- Ensure regular project updates are provided into the PMO and with key stakeholders.
- Escalate issues and concerns as appropriate to steering group/ Project Sponsor
- Document and communicate project lessons learned in conjunction with the company methodology to support and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial Engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is required; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 Years of experience in reliving field.
- Proven project management experience, with a track record of successful project delivery from implementation to project completion.
- Relevant Project Management (PMP)and/or Change Management qualification (preferred).
- Experience of the logistics industry (ideally including business implementation projects, covering transport, and warehousing operations).
Skills:
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers from varied backgrounds and cultures.
- Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective.
- PC literate MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Project, MS Teams
- Strong presentation skills able to create professional and effective slide decks to support scope development, project meetings and status reporting.
