You will play a key leadership role in defining how our applications are structured, integrated, scaled, and secured with a focus on performance, maintainability, and long-term growth.
This is a hands-on architectural role that requires close collaboration with backend/frontend leads, DevOps, security, product, and leadership. You will work directly with the CTO to translate business goals and product vision into solid technical foundations, ensuring our architecture supports both rapid development and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Architecture Design & Governance- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of our platform including backend services, frontend apps, APIs, data models, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Define architectural patterns and guidelines for microservices, modular monoliths, event-driven systems, or other suitable paradigms.
- Drive architecture reviews and design decisions across engineering teams.
- Ensure all components are loosely coupled, scalable, secure, and cloud-optimized.
- Oversee technical design across backend (Django, Django REST Framework) and frontend (React.js).
- Work with DevOps to optimize CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (Azure).
- Collaborate with security teams to implement secure-by-design principles across the architecture.
- Recommend tools, libraries, or services to accelerate development and improve maintainability.
- Act as the technical advisor and coach to engineering leads and developers.
- Promote coding standards, clean architecture, testability, and reusable design patterns.
- Lead architectural onboarding for new engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Design for horizontal scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
- Conduct performance analysis, bottleneck identification, and capacity planning.
- Define caching strategies, async processing, database optimization, and integration approaches.
- Define and govern API standards (REST, WebSockets, GraphQL if applicable).
- Design external and internal interfaces for extensibility and version control.
- Ensure integration with third-party systems is secure, reliable, and maintainable.
- Produce clear architectural documentation, diagrams, and system specs.
- Facilitate technical discussions across cross-functional teams.
- Communicate trade-offs and design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
