Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


Position Purpose
Support the establishment of the tax function, ensure compliance, optimize tax strategies, and manage tax-related risks across the organization. Responsible for conducting gap analysis, advising Finance, Legal, and Operations teams on project tax structures, and overseeing transfer pricing. Additionally, manage the tax compliance cycle for corporate tax, liaise with tax advisors, and monitor tax filings for the company and its subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
Transfer Pricing
• Develop and implement transfer pricing policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with local and international transfer pricing regulations
• Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation and reports
• Conduct transfer pricing risk assessments and provide strategic advice
Setting Up the Tax Function
• Assist the Tax Director in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive tax compliance framework
• Supervise the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including VAT and corporate income tax
• Develop a system for tracking tax deadlines, payments, and filings
• Ensure all group entities comply with local and international tax regulations
• Implement best practices for tax risk management and internal controls
Gap Analysis
• Conduct thorough gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current practices and tax code requirements across the AMEA Power Group
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance with new or revised laws
• Provide recommendations and strategies to senior management based on analysis findings
Additional Responsibilities
• Collaborate with finance and legal teams to identify tax-saving opportunities and implement effective tax strategies
• Analyze the financial impact of various tax scenarios and provide recommendations
• Optimize the organization s tax position through incentives, exemptions, and deductions
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accurate tax representation
• Liaise with auditors to address tax-related queries and assist in the audit process
• Provide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions
• Conduct regular tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as required
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, preferably in the Middle East and Africa
• Experience in both Big 4 accounting firms and in-house tax roles
• Experience with tax audits and liaising with tax authorities
• Managing tax compliance and reporting for multinational companies
• Familiarity with tax planning and advisory in the renewable energy sector
• Bachelor s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• Master s or professional tax qualification preferred
Required Skills
• In-depth knowledge of UAE and international tax laws and regulations
• Background in transfer pricing and corporate tax strategy implementation
• Proficiency in tax compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite
