Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Produces a high standard radiographic images utilizing digital radiography equipment.

Assists supervisor with coordination and organization of daily activities of radiographers.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Acts as a reference in the section and assists supervisor in ensuring proper work standards implemented in the section.
  • Reviews exam orders/requisitions, corresponding protocol, and asks questions of senior(s) and prepares for exams, if needed.
  • Identifies patients by following the Hospital identification policy.
  • Explains procedures to patients and prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Positions patient and attaches or adjusts immobilizing and shielding devices to ensure precise patient position, patient comfort, and to minimize patient exposure to x-rays.
  • Selects and adjusts proper sitting for each projection to produce proper images [if needed].
  • Monitors patient condition during and after procedure to ensure patient safety and comfort. Retrieves information from computer and processes information in the proper format for interpretation by the radiologist and/or archiving.
  • Evaluates completed tests for quality and completeness. Documents all studies performed.
  • Performs quality control studies on equipment. Informs supervisor of equipment malfunctions or the need for repair and documentation, as well as cleaning and restoring all equipment and supplies for future usage.
  • Complies with the section policies, procedures and protocols. Follows the section's quality improvement program in compliance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA, and other accreditation agency criteria.
  • Complies with Radiation safety rules and regulation of the Hospital in accordance with KACST and K.A.CARE and other national or international regulatory bodies.
  • Applies ALARA principle role within the section practice for all procedures.
  • Follows all Hospital s related Policies and Procedures.
  • Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

Bachelor s Degree or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, or successful completion of specialized training at the Hospital in Radiological Sciences/Technology is required.

Experience Required

Grade09:

  • Four (4) years of related experience with Bachelor s Degree, or six (6) years with programs is required.

Grade 10:

  • Four (4) years as Senior Technologist, General Radiography at KFSH&RC, or (Grade09) related experience is required.
  • Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
  • One-hundred(100) cumulative continued medical education [CME].

Other Requirements(Certificates)

  • Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Successful completion of Registration in Radiography with American Registry of Radiographic Technologists or the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists or equivalent is required.
