Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Translator Editor will be responsible for producing, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of translations (Arabic English), post-editing machine-translated content, and editing a wide range of academic and administrative documents. The postholder will also contribute to quality assurance, terminology development, mentoring junior translators, and supporting TAC projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex academic, technical, and administrative documents with high accuracy.
  • Perform full MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing) following international standards.
  • Provide advanced editing and proofreading for research papers, reports, proposals, and official communication.
  • Lead quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with ISO 17100 workflows.
  • Maintain and develop terminology databases and style guides.
  • Mentor junior translators and support training activities within TAC.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administrative units, and external partners on major translation and editorial projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Translation, Linguistics, English/Arabic, Journalism, or related field.

u>Preferred/u> : Master s degree in Translation Studies, Applied Linguistics, or Professional Writing.

5 7 years of proven professional experience in translation and editing.

Near-native proficiency in both Arabic and English (C2 level).

Strong command of CAT tools (Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast) and MTPE practices.

Demonstrated experience with academic editing and citation styles.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and professional ethics.
