Senior Water Engineer Client of Ignite Search and Selection

Our client is well reputed Consultancy in the Water sector, as a Senior Water Engineer you will be responsible for looking after wastewater treatment processes, project design, and execution from concept through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of delivering large-scale STP projects in compliance with local and international standards, particularly in the GCC region.

• Lead the design and engineering of sewage and wastewater treatment plants (STPs), including preliminary, detailed, and construction design phases.
• Supervise and coordinate all technical aspects of STP project execution civil, mechanical, electrical, and process-related works.
• Ensure full compliance with environmental, health & safety, and municipal regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve technical specifications, design drawings, P&IDs, and BOQs.
• Support tendering and procurement activities, including reviewing vendor offers and technical submittals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Oversee site works, commissioning activities, and performance testing of STP systems.
• Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and site staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering. Master s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in water and wastewater projects, with at least 5 years focused on sewage treatment plants.
• Strong understanding of biological treatment processes (MBR, SBR, ASP, etc.).
• Familiarity with local regulations (MEW, NWC, NEOM, etc.) and international standards (e.g., WHO, US EPA, BS/EN) would be a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. GCC experience preferred; Arabic language skills are a plus.
