Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review of applicable contractual requirements (Technical standards, specifications, etc.
  • Definition and review of the Quality Plan and relevant procedures.
  • Review and validation of inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, reference documentation, schedule, milestones, reporting, etc.
  • Definition of Intertek interventions
  • Selection of the most appropriate inspection techniques
  • Execution or supervision of inspection according to the pre-defined Quality Plan, and to the established inspection procedures/techniques
  • Execution of inspection reporting, including treatment of non-conformities (NCRs) and other applicable deliverables
  • Ensuring the quality of inspection according to the Quality System
  • Interpretation of the results of inspections
  • Treatment of non-conformities / corrective actions
  • Review and appraisal of inspection procedures
  • Maintaining internal communication
  • Promotes Intertek's service portfolio to clients
  • Respects the security guidelines of Intertek and safeguards personal security in the working environment
  • Actively participates in the sharing of knowledge and information (Knowledge Management)
  • Witness welding procedure qualification tests
  • Witness welder and welding operator’s performance tests.
  • Ensure proper fit-up by checking edge preparation (bevel angles, root gap, land, overlap, etc.)
  • Monitor pre-heating temperature, welding consumables, and parameters
  • Ensure welding works are performed as per approved procedures (WPS) and welders
  • In-process welding surveillance and visual inspection of weld finish.
  • Monitor storage, handling, and baking of welding consumables.
  • Ensure that fabrication is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans.
  • Monitor NDT / PWHT and review reports
  • Review radiography films and endorse RT reports
  • Prepare inspection reports on time and submit to the Team Leader for review and further action.

Desired Candidate Profile


Senior Welding Inspector:

  • Minimum: Have 10+ years of overall experience in QA/QC, Inspection and Testing activities for the relevant discipline in Fabrication, Manufacturing and Construction in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry, as required by the scope of work & must have 3+ years of experience working with a TPI Agency
  • Worked with multiple clients and have vast experience.
  • Proven track record.
  • Handle inspections single-handedly with minimal support.


Minimum required qualifications


  • CSWIP 3.2.2 Certified senior welding inspector
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering & science
  • ASNT / PCN Level II in RT, UT, MT, & PT, or an approved equivalent.
  • ISO-9001-2015 Lead Auditor,
  • Excellent vocal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
  • Shop Inspection coordination experience.
  • Go in-depth into the requirements and execute.
  • Reading the requirements and interpreting and saving the data.

Technical Knowledge


  • Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, and BS.
  • Experience with Welding / NDT Inspection according to relevant Codes.
  • Application of Codes and standards, project specifications, and procedures.
  • Perform Inspections according to client-specific requirements and by following specifications and technical requirements.
  • Follow Client requirements and approved procedures.
  • Inspection test plans
  • Follow PD/QA/QP and Global procedures.
  • Purchase orders understanding and terms & Conditions.
  • Third-party inspection Company role and responsibilities.
  • Inspection report.
  • Inspection release notes & understand its contractual bindings.
  • NCR/CAR/PAR.
  • Quality/HSE manual & plans.
  • Awareness about Welding/NDT/Pressure testing/ Painting
