Job Description

The Service Advisor is a pivotal role in the automotive service industry, primarily responsible for acting as the liaison between customers and the service center. Positioned at the heart of the service department, a Service Advisor ensures the smooth flow of communication between customers and technicians. This role requires excellent customer service skills, in-depth technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. The Service Advisor will be responsible for scheduling appointments, discussing automotive issues and services with customers, overseeing the progress of work, and keeping customers informed about the status and cost of repairs. With an ability to build strong customer relationships, the Service Advisor is integral in driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.


Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and assist them with automotive service inquiries and needs.
  • Schedule service appointments and manage the daily schedule efficiently.
  • Listen to customer concerns and communicate them effectively to technicians.
  • Provide detailed explanations of services, repairs, and cost estimates to customers.
  • Ensure that customers receive timely updates on their vehicles' repair status.
  • Coordinate with the service team to ensure timely completion of auto repairs.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all service transactions and customer interactions.
  • Upsell additional services and products when appropriate without pressure.
  • Handle customer complaints or issues and provide resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and service standards at all times.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback.
  • Keep abreast of new vehicle technologies, products, and service methods.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in both verbal and written English.
  • At least two years of experience in an automotive service or customer service role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicles and automotive systems is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using computer software for scheduling and logging service information.
  • Professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
