Job Description

A Service Advisor plays a crucial role in automotive service departments by serving as the primary point of contact between customers and the service team. They are responsible for ensuring that all vehicle maintenance and repair needs are effectively communicated to both customers and the technical team. With their strong understanding of automotive systems, Service Advisors help customers make informed decisions about necessary repairs and maintenance while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. They handle appointments, prepare service estimates, and ensure that work is completed efficiently and on time. Service Advisors must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong customer service orientation, to succeed in this dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities
  • Greet customers warmly and ascertain the reason for their vehicle service visit.
  • Listen attentively to customer concerns and document them accurately for the technicians.
  • Provide clear and detailed service estimates including time and cost expectations.
  • Coordinate with the service team to schedule and oversee the repair work required.
  • Advise customers on necessary maintenance and repair options for their vehicles.
  • Ensure timely communication with customers regarding service progress and any changes.
  • Generate detailed service reports and explain them to customers once work is completed.
  • Facilitate payment transactions and ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure complete satisfaction and solicit feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and service transactions.
  • Continuously update knowledge on new automotive technologies and repair procedures.
  • Collaborate with the service manager to improve customer service strategies and efficiency.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, although advanced education is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an automotive service-related role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Proven ability to handle service-related challenges and resolve customer complaints.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple service appointments and schedules.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and service management software.
  • Ability to work full-time, including some weekends and holidays, as required.
