Job Description

A Service Engineer is a crucial member of the technical team in an organization, responsible for providing on-site servicing and support for various machinery and equipment. This position involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work to ensure that machinery continues to perform optimally. A Service Engineer must possess a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, along with strong problem-solving skills. The role often requires interaction with clients, making communication and customer service skills essential. As a Service Engineer, you must be adaptable, capable of working independently as well as part of a team, and willing to travel frequently to client locations to deliver high-quality service and support.


Responsibilities
  • Perform installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems at client sites.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance to prevent equipment failures and extend lifespan.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or system issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on proper equipment operation.
  • Document service and repair activities accurately for future reference and analysis.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers or other engineers for complex troubleshooting missions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of spare parts and service tools necessary for tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Travel to various client sites, often requiring overnight stays and flexible hours.
  • Assess equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and clients to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of service processes and procedures.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and potentially internationally.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with common diagnostic tools and equipment used in service engineering.
