Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

You'll develop and roll out a sustainability plan focused on energy and water efficiency, waste management, environmental impact, and biodiversity, aligned with our global strategy.

You will lead behavioural based safety programmes at the site to ensure everyone goes home safe.

Some of your key responsibilities:

  • Lead SHE programmes of work at the site to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, standards, and meeting recognised good practice to maintain a strong and positive relationship with regulators and local authorities
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, develop justification basis, and manage their implementation through a structured and prioritised SHE Improvement Plan.
  • Develop and maintain Safe Systems of Work including Permit to Work and Management of Change to the highest standards across all site functions.
  • Lead incident investigations using structured root cause analysis tools, share lessons learned, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Lead the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of integrated SHEQ Management Systems in line with Group and industry standards and serve as the Scott Bader representative for both internal and external audits and manage the ISO9001, ISO14001, and Lloyds certification processes.
  • Drive a positive safety culture across the business through visible and felt leadership, ensuring zero Lost Time Accidents (LTAs) and promoting best practices at every level through the delivery of practical training and development for plant personnel across all SHE areas, working closely with the HR team to ensure the right skills are in place.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • A tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, along with a formal safety qualification.
  • Minimum of five years experience in a chemical environment, with a strong understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, and/or ISO 45001
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), 5S, and 7W tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and report-writing skills, able to present concise, actionable information to senior stakeholders.
  • A passionate and structured approach to embedding a safety-first culture, engaging with staff at all levels to deliver meaningful change.
