Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Precisely operate shear machines to cut metal sheets and plates to specified dimensions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to blueprints.
- Perform routine maintenance on shear machines, including blade adjustments, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials before and after shearing, identifying defects, and verifying dimensions against specifications using measuring tools.
- Load and unload materials onto the shear machine, utilizing appropriate lifting equipment and following safety protocols to prevent injuries and material damage.
- Set up shear machines by adjusting blade angles, back gauges, and other settings according to job requirements and material type.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine cutting instructions and material specifications.
- Monitor machine operation, making adjustments as needed to maintain cutting accuracy and quality, and address any operational issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations and housekeeping standards to prevent accidents and promote efficiency.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as welders and fabricators, to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Report any machine malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately, and assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Desired Candidate Profile
Candidates with experience in the automotive or aerospace industry are highly preferred, highlighting industry-specific knowledge.
Exhibits strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
Demonstrates proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, showcasing technical aptitude.
Proven ability to use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures with precision.
Possesses excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work, reflecting a dedication to excellence.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to dynamic environments.
Exhibits a strong understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Demonstrates a proven track record of 4-8 years of hands-on experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment, indicating industry expertise.
