Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Shift Charge Engineer, while performing duties in assigned shift shall be fully responsible for safe and efficient operation of plant within the technical limits as outlined in PPA, GSA and in operating procedures following the best practices of the power industry. To ensure proper logging and recording of all events and parameters. Preparing shift and other reports as assigned by Operations Manager. To ensure full EHS compliance during his shift. Strictly adheres to all safety rules; lockout/tag out, work permit guidelines, confined space entry and similar policies put in place to protect the employee s health and safety.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate the plant safely and efficiently during his shift.
  • Participate in the plant daily morning meeting giving input regarding plant operational needs.
  • Issue and cancel work permits in the capacity of Senior Authorized Person.
  • Be responsible to carry out the required isolation/de-Isolation in the process.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Engineer and Plant Engineer and other departments of this plant.
  • Keep the Ops. Manger or his designee informed of any unusual incident.
  • generate report such as generation reports, incident, accident and near miss.
  • Make periodic rounds of power plant observing conditions, note abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.
  • Maintain a record of all such correspondence with Gas Seller and Power Purchaser as required under O&M agreement, PPA and GSA.
  • Write Daily Shift report for operational activities.
  • Check and verify daily log sheets to determine proper operation of the device.
  • Handle plant emergencies by effective coordination, team work, timely and prudent decisions.
  • Comply with all EHS policies & Quality Assurance procedures as developed and implemented at site in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Understand OH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspects / impacts to related to work activities.
  • Impart training and supervise the work of subordinate staff.
  • Carry out periodic safety drill and shall lead emergency response team whenever an emergency situation emerges.
  • Carry out LOTO audit at each month end.
  • Ensure the proper housekeeping of his designated plant area.
  • Ensure hazardous waste in the plant areas are secured safely in line with the plant safety policy.
  • Take full responsibility for health, safety and environment by following all EHS requirements in his shift.
  • Travel may be required
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization s core values.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5-7 years working experience in similar capacity in power plant preferably having GE F Class Technology
  • English proficiency required
