Job Description

A Shop Assistant in the lighting sector plays a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and efficient shopping experience for customers seeking lighting solutions. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong product knowledge, particularly in various lighting products ranging from decorative lamps to industrial outdoor fixtures. They will thrive in a retail environment, balancing direct customer interaction with salesmanship and daily operational tasks. An essential part of the role includes maintaining an organized store layout, managing inventory, and ensuring that all display and demonstration items are well represented and functional. The Shop Assistant will act as a brand ambassador, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and assisting customers in making informed purchase decisions to meet their specific lighting needs. This role demands a proactive attitude, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team or independently.


Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and address inquiries about lighting products.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate lighting solutions for their needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and display areas.
  • Ensure all lighting products are accurately priced and labeled in displays.
  • Perform cashier duties, including processing sales transactions efficiently.
  • Stay updated on the latest lighting product trends and promotions.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve sales targets and store goals.
  • Restock shelves and manage product inventory to prevent stockouts.
  • Assist in setting up promotional displays and store layouts seasonally.
  • Report any inventory discrepancies and customer feedback to management.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss strategies and training.
  • Demonstrate safety practices when handling and displaying lighting products.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, further education is a bonus.
  • Previous retail experience, ideally within a lighting or home decor store.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Capability to lift and move lighting products and fixtures safely.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
