Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain SIP servers (e.g., Kamailio, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH) and supporting RTP proxies.
Develop and optimize SIP routing logic between vehicle softphones and the call-center backend.
Design and implement high-availability mechanisms for the SIP server (e.g., active-active failover, state replication, scaling for 11k endpoints).
Monitor and troubleshoot SIP signaling and RTP media flows (TCP for signaling, UDP for media).
Implement secure communication (TLS/SIPS for signaling, SRTP/DTLS for media) and closed user group restrictions.
Support interoperability with the vehicle backend, call-center PBX, and external operators.
Maintain logging, test call handling, and metadata traceability as per system requirements.
Provide operational documentation and runbooks for SIP services.
Must have
Strong hands-on experience with SIP server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Deep understanding of SIP, SDP, RTP, RTCP, and related VoIP standards.
Proven experience designing, deploying, and operating SIP server infrastructures that handle high-load environments (10k+ endpoints or equivalent) with built-in high availability and clustering.
Strong knowledge of security measures for SIP/VoIP (e.g. TLS, SRTP, SBCs).
Proficiency with Linux system administration and scripting, including managing databases for SIP routing and authentication.
Familiarity with SIP monitoring tools.
Nice to have
Experience with telecom interconnects or carrier-grade SIP routing.
Exposure to AWS-based deployments.
Relevant VoIP/security certifications.
