Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Fully conversant with relevant international standards. Experience with Company and/or Shell Group projects and standards (SPs) is strongly preferred. Field experience in construction & commissioning strongly preferred.
- For Engineers, a minimum 8 years oil & gas engineering experience. Experience in front end, detailed design required Conversant with relevant international standards.

- Execute technical support studies as requested. Provide engineering support to the construction / commissioning phases as necessary.
- Provide engineering support to Construction and operations as requested.
- Provide detailed engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation and challenge of standards.
- Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimise areas of interface, during the design development, review and check processes.
- Support design/drawing office personnel with specialist engineering input.
- Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids for discipline material and equipment sourcing. Ensure equipment Vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages. Review all third-party discipline design work.
- Ensure design packages meet the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.
- Understand the contract quality management system and ensure these requirements are met.
- Participate in and sometimes lead, discipline design reviews.
- Act as lead discipline engineer for specific projects, managing discipline design teams of designers and engineers. Stand in for discipline head as appropriate.
- Responsible for all day to day project construction activities of the assigned project of the Oil & Gas Division and associated activities such as but not limited to project construction, operations, planning and delivery, arrangement and fulfillment of project resources and materials, project logistics, project QHSE matters etc.
- Responsible for all day to day activities supporting build program planning and delivery; identifying key issues, constraints & critical path; setting and achieving key milestones; issuing various reports
- Responsible for all external stakeholder engagement with Client, Subcontractor, Consultants through routine meetings, action tracking and closeout
- Responsible for all internal stakeholder engagement with HR, PEL, Commercial & Contracts, HSE, Quality and other associated corporate and Divisional functions to ensure project delivery as per set program and contract expectations
- Responsible for all individual and certain project specific productivity targets, KPIs and attainment thereof.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering discipline
A proven work experience as a Site Engineer Mechanical in a similar organization
Strong writing and record keeping abilities. Strong IT skills and usage of software
Strong communication, planning & organizing skills
Strong leadership skills. Ability to drive site construction matters
Experience shall encompass all types of piping systems, design and construction standards, and codes of practice. Experience in piping material class, specification for piping items and valves, plot plan, piping layout, pipe stress analysis (static and dynamic, AIV/FIV) and pipe support types, piping isometrics and material take-off, piping design software. Years of experience in specialism shall be as per generic engineer as specified above
Requires working knowledge of piping material class selection, corrosion control, GRE, non-metallic piping specification, full appreciation of international codes / piping classes for piping, valves
Experience shall encompass oil, gas, water, multi-phase pipelines of all classes, greenfield as well as brownfield expansion of existing pipeline networks. Experience of shutdown tie-in work to existing lines is required
Fully conversant with pipeline design codes (API 5L, API 6D, NACE, ASME B31.4, ASME 31.8,). Experience with metallic and non-metallic pipelines, hot tapping and stopping of pipelines
Experience shall encompass materials selection for large upstream oil & gas projects, corrosion analysis, corrosion mitigation measures, painting & coating specifications, materials failure investigations, welding. Shall have experience in all ranges of metallic and non-metallic materials. Shall be fully conversant with all relevant international codes std
Experience shall encompass design of large oil and gas facilities, involving heavy rotating/static equipment, foundations, facilities, buildings, support structures using computerized tools such as STAAD or equivalent
