Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Site Engineer – False Ceiling & Gypsum is responsible for direct site supervision and technical implementation of all false ceiling, gypsum partition, and painting works. This hands-on role ensures all installations conform to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and direct all on-site false ceiling, gypsum board, and drylining installation activities.
Interpret and implement approved shop drawings and material specifications for ceiling grids, bulkheads, coffered ceilings, and gypsum partitions.
Coordinate daily site works with MEP sub-contractors to ensure proper service integration above false ceilings.
Inspect substrate conditions, grid alignment, board fixing, jointing, and finishing at each stage of work.
Review and implement method statements for all ceiling and partition activities.
Raise and track RFIs for site technical issues; liaise with the Project Engineer for resolution.
Monitor and record daily labour productivity, material consumption, and progress.
Supervise painting activities including surface preparation, priming, and final coat application.
Conduct and document pre-inspection checks and snag list rectification.
Enforce HSE compliance including working-at-height safety for all ceiling works.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Finishing.
3–10 years of site engineering experience in false ceiling, gypsum, and painting works in UAE/GCC.
Practical knowledge of ceiling and partition system installation techniques and quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and fit-out shop drawings.
Good knowledge of UAE construction HSE requirements, especially working-at-height regulations.
