Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Execute and supervise mechanical works for PV solar projects including mounting structures, trackers (if applicable), module installation, and associated mechanical components.

  • Oversee installation of fixed-tilt structures / single-axis trackers, torqueing, alignment, leveling, and mechanical tolerances.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of solar modules to avoid damage.
  • Coordinate with electrical and civil teams to ensure seamless interface management.
  • Support site layout, string orientation, and tracker commissioning from a mechanical perspective.
  • Ensure mechanical works comply with approved Quality Plans, ITPs, and project standards.
  • Conduct inspections, raise inspection requests, and close NCRs related to mechanical works.
  • Maintain installation checklists, as-built documentation, and handover dossiers.
  • Ensure compliance with project HSE policies, toolbox talks, and safe work practices.
  • Identify hazards related to mechanical installation and implement mitigation measures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among subcontractors and site teams.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager, QA/QC, Planning, and Stores teams for smooth execution.
  • Attend site meetings and provide daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Highlight risks, constraints, and material shortages in advance.
  • Support mechanical punch list closure prior to commissioning.
  • Assist during module installation completion, tracker calibration, and final handover.
  • Ensure mechanical scope completion aligns with commissioning schedules.
