Job Description
Job Title : Site Supervisor
Department : Operations
Reporting To : Site Engineer
Reports from : Foreman/Unskilled Workers
The Site Supervisor is responsible for managing the execution of civil works at the site in accordance with the project scope, approved drawings, quality plans, and productivity targets. This role involves supervising daily site activities, coordinating with subcontractors and site teams, and ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Site Supervisor also ensures strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, while maintaining efficient and safe on-site operations throughout the project lifecycle.

  1. Key Responsibilities:


1.1 Site Execution and Monitoring

  • Supervise and manage on-site activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure the daily deployment of manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Interpret and explain construction drawings and method statements to workers.
  • Monitor productivity and performance of subcontractors and workers.
  • Ensure that work is executed efficiently and with minimal rework.
  • Accurate measurement and reporting of progress and productivity in collaboration with the Site Engineer.


1.2 Resource Management

  • Monitor the use of materials and tools to avoid wastage.
  • Requisition materials and verify delivery against purchase orders.
  • Ensure timely availability of required equipment and manpower.
  • Suggest innovative, cost-effective methods for work execution.
  • Control material usage, prevent wastage, and manage on-site damages.


1.3 Safety & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce company and other local authority HSE regulations policies on site.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Monitor use of PPE and safe work practices among workers.
  • Immediately report any incidents, near misses, or accidents to the Site Engineer and HSE Officer.
  • Prepare site for safe and compliant waste disposal practices.



1.4 Quality Control

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and proper execution of works as per approved QA/QC plans.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Engineer and client representatives to conduct quality inspections.
  • Coordinate with the QA/QC Engineer to close NCRs and punch list items.
  • Record and report any changes in project scope or delays for variation claims.
  • Track and report daily work outputs, lessons learned, and productivity improvements.


1.5 Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide guidance and hands-on training to workers on proper work methods and execution techniques.
  • Ensure all personnel receive appropriate safety and health training prior to commencing new tasks or activities.
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and document the performance of site staff and workers.
  • Promote a collaborative and productive team environment by resolving conflicts and maintaining open, effective communication among team members.


1.6 Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure accurate recording and submission of labour timesheets, including overtime.
  • Assist in the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and other required documentation.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain project-related data for future reference and reporting (Project Close out report).
  • Uphold site cleanliness and organization through consistent housekeeping practices
  • Regularly assess workers skill levels and report to superiors about their training needs and progress in skill development


  1. Attitude:
  • Take ownership of the site, demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills, and guide the workforce effectively.
  • Collaborate with engineers, foremen, workers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of work.
  • Remain calm under pressure and maintain a constructive attitude in difficult site conditions.
  • Maintain high levels of personal discipline, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Be accountable for site progress, safety, and quality.
  • Be flexible to changing plans, weather conditions, and urgent project needs.
  1. Preferred Qualifications:
  • ITI/Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in site supervision.
  • Good knowledge of structural, finishing, and infrastructure works.
  • Familiarity with local authority regulations and safety standards.
  1. Working Conditions:
  • Primarily site-based; exposure to dust, heat, noise, and varying weather conditions.
