Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:


The Site Supervisor – Truck Marshalling Operations is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all truck movement activities within the site to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The role supervises truck marshals and related site personnel, manages traffic flow, ensures adherence to HSE standards, and supports smooth logistics, loading, unloading, and dispatch activities.

The Site Supervisor ensures that vehicle movement is properly controlled to minimize delays, reduce safety risks, and maintain operational continuity across the site.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Operational Supervision

  • Supervise daily truck marshalling and site traffic movement operations.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound truck activities to ensure smooth site access and exit.

  • Assign truck marshals to designated operational zones, gates, loading bays, or high-risk traffic areas.

  • Ensure all trucks are positioned correctly for loading, unloading, parking, or dispatch.

  • Monitor yard and site congestion and implement corrective actions to maintain traffic flow.

  • Oversee truck queuing, staging, docking, reversing, and parking activities.

  • Ensure proper communication between truck marshals, drivers, dispatch, warehouse, security, and operations teams.

  • Support planning of truck movement schedules based on operational priorities.


Team Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and monitor the performance of truck marshals and related site traffic personnel.

  • Conduct shift briefings, toolbox talks, and daily operational instructions.

  • Ensure team members understand site traffic rules, work instructions, and emergency procedures.

  • Provide on-the-job guidance, coaching, and performance support to the marshalling team.

  • Manage attendance, shift allocation, break coverage, and manpower deployment.

  • Report staffing shortages, performance issues, or training needs to management.


Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all truck movement operations are conducted in accordance with HSE policies and site traffic management plans.

  • Monitor compliance with safe marshalling procedures, approved hand signals, PPE usage, and pedestrian segregation.

  • Stop unsafe vehicle movement or unsafe site activity immediately.

  • Conduct routine checks of vehicle movement areas, loading zones, blind spots, barriers, and pedestrian crossings.

  • Investigate and report incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and hazards related to truck operations.

  • Participate in site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure emergency access routes remain clear at all times.


Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with logistics, warehouse, transport, security, and site management teams to align truck movement with site activities.

  • Communicate operational delays, traffic disruptions, and safety concerns promptly to relevant stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with drivers and external transport providers regarding site entry procedures and traffic rules.

  • Assist in resolving operational bottlenecks affecting truck turnaround time.


Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily records of truck movement, manpower deployment, incidents, delays, and operational issues.

  • Prepare and submit shift reports, safety observations, and operational summaries.

  • Ensure completion of required site traffic logs, checklists, and compliance records.

  • Support management with KPI tracking related to traffic flow, safety, and operational efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:


Education Background

Diploma or equivalent certificate; additional logistics, operations, or safety qualifications are an advantage.

Technical Qualification / Certification

  • Training or certification in traffic marshalling, site supervision, HSE, logistics, or transport operations preferred.

  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and operational records.

  • Good communication skills in English; Arabic or other local language is an advantage.

Related Work Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in site operations, logistics, transport yard operations, truck marshalling, or traffic control.

  • Minimum 1–2 years in a supervisory role preferred.

  • Experience working in warehouse, construction, industrial, oil & gas, or distribution environments is highly desirable.
