• Skims ash, dross, and surface impurities from the molten zinc bath before and

during galvanizing operations using designated skimming tools.

• Performs skimming with controlled and deliberate movements using slow and

steady strokes to avoid splashing or disturbing the zinc surface, and faster

strokes only when necessary to remove floating debris quickly without causing

turbulence in the bath.

• Maintains a clean zinc bath surface throughout operations by coordinating with

the galvanizing operator on the timing of skimming between dips.

• Disposes of ash and dross properly in labeled containers or drums, following

safety and environmental procedures

• Assists in tapping operations by supporting the removal of excess zinc from

freshly galvanized materials immediately after withdrawal.

• Checks condition of skimming tools regularly, ensuring they are clean, heatresistant,

and free from damage; reports any issues to the supervisor for repair or

replacement.

• Follows all safety protocols, including the use of PPE (face shield, gloves, heat-resistant

clothing), and maintains situational awareness around hot materials and

equipment.

• Follow the instruction given by kettle and crane operators to avoid interference

during loading, dipping, and unloading.

• Maintains cleanliness in the kettle area, performs basic housekeeping, and

promptly reports any irregularities (e.g., excessive ash buildup or splash hazards
