Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide on-site Smart Hands support for both build (installation, staging, cabling, racking) and operate (maintenance, break/fix, fault assistance, equipment handling and vendor coordination) for the mPOP environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment receiving, inventory verification, racking, stacking, and cable management per build documents and standards.
  • Power-up, initial hardware configuration validation, and hands-on assist during vendor-led device deployments.
  • Replace FRUs, swap modules, and perform basic hardware diagnostics under direction.
  • Coordinate and work with remote NOC/engineering teams during implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with testing, labeling, and documentation updates following builds and changes.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks and respond to on-site support tickets within agreed SLA.
  • Handle logistics for equipment exchanges and liaise with freight/ customs teams when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe server-room environment and follow site access / security procedures.
  • Provide timely updates to project leads and escalate incidents per process.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum Diploma
  • Minimum 2 4 years hands-on data center or field support experience (preferred experience with network or telecom hardware).
  • Experience with racking, cabling (fiber & copper), power connections, and basic diagnostics.
  • Comfortable working from vendor build documents and checklists; able to follow standard operating procedures..
  • Ability to work flexible hours and on-call / shift patterns as required by projects.
  • Basic IT literacy (ticketing systems, asset tracking, mobile communications).
