Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Flight Safety function, the SMS Engineer is responsible for the management, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS) within the MRO. They work closely with all departments (Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering) to ensure the control of operational risks.
This title, and its missions, include in particular:
- Monitoring and analysis of mandatory and voluntary reports of events and hazards
- Supporting operational entities in identifying and managing risks that may impact flight safety
- Risk assessment related to the organization's activities
- Updating and revising procedures related to the security management system
- The implementation of root cause analyses of security events
- Monitoring and analyzing security performance indicators
- Promoting a safety culture through communication, awareness-raising, and training initiatives
Desired Candidate Profile
- State engineering degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an environment related to management systems (Quality and/or Safety)
- Good knowledge of SMS principles (an asset)
- My mastery of English, both spoken and written
- Strong analytical skills, rigor, and ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Excellent communication skills
