Overview of Role:

The Pens.com Social Media Copywriter plays a key part in advancing Pens.com s global social media strategy by driving efficient operational support and fostering community connection among business professionals, entrepreneurs, and organizational leaders who use branded merchandise to grow their brand. This role is responsible for driving meaningful connections through both inbound and proactive community engagement, while supporting creator programs, UGC initiatives, trend-informed social strategies, and supporting day-to-day social media operations.

Reporting to the Global Social Media Manager, the position works cross-functionally with internal Brand, Creative, Customer Care, and Analytics teams and external agencies to support cohesive social media campaigns and elevate audience engagement. The ideal candidate transforms operational tasks into strategic outcomes that strengthen brand visibility, foster community connection, and inform future social content opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Operations Support

  • Support the Social Media Manager by coordinating content creator orders, including placing orders and liaising with vendors to ensure timely and seamless fulfillment.
  • Identify and share emerging social media trends, including trending and on-brand sounds, creative design formats, and copywriting styles, to inspire future content and engagement opportunities.
  • Build UTM tracking links for social posts to ensure accurate campaign performance reporting.
  • Publish Instagram Stories as needed.
  • Maintain a database of on-brand influencers and their contact information for potential future collaborations.
  • Develop and update a running list of evergreen social content ideas that can be implemented throughout the global social content strategy.

Community Engagement

  • Foster meaningful connections with our North America audience by writing engaging, grammatically correct, on-brand, and personality-driven responses to inbound engagements on our social profiles.
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Customer Care, Brand Marketing, and VOC to ensure consistent and effective community engagement.
  • Proactively engage with our target audience by monitoring comment sections, mentions, and relevant hashtags for authentic interaction opportunities.
  • Identify and coordinate thoughtful surprise and delight moments by gifting branded products to creators or customers.

UGC Management

  • Manage the UGC rights process, including sourcing content across social media, securing usage approvals, and organizing approved assets within the content library.
  • Lead our bi-monthly Instagram Story UGC series by curating templated UGC spotlights in Canva.
  • Identify fresh opportunities to integrate UGC into our organic social strategy to strengthen authenticity and community connection.
  • Support cross-channel teams including Email, Site, Paid Media, and Mail Order in finding approved UGC assets for use across brand touchpoints.

Measurement & Optimization

  • Monitor and report trending conversations and key topics within the promotional products industry using our enterprise listening tools.
  • Track, analyze, and report metrics related to engagement, sentiment, and audience growth, providing actionable insights that inform the overall social media strategy.
  • Analyze competitor social media strategies and provide actionable insights and recommendations based on their successes.

What we need from you:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in copywriting or social media marketing.
  • Strong English communication skills equivalent to C2 proficiency, demonstrating near-native fluency in writing and speaking.
  • Creative writing skills with the ability to craft social communications infused with Pens.com s tone of voice and personality
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices for building brand communities and engagement.
  • Ability to translate content and community learnings into actionable, data-driven insights that inform content strategy and optimize social initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in Canva for creating and curating visual content.
  • Familiarity with the promotional products industry, including what drives customer connection and purchasing behavior.
  • Experience with enterprise social media publishing, analytics, and listening tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Brand watch, Hootsuite, or similar).
  • Experience coordinating influencer, creator, or UGC campaigns, including content rights management and asset organization.
  • Familiarity with content planning, campaign calendars, and cross-functional collaboration workflows.
