Software and Web Development Manager

The University of Balamand (UOB) is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to serve as Software and Web Development Manager, responsible for leading the design, development, and continuous improvement of the university s digital ecosystem, including web platforms, enterprise systems, learning management systems, and AI-driven solutions. The successful candidate will lead and manage a multidisciplinary development team while contributing to the University s digital transformation strategy through the integration of innovative technologies and the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure digital services.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Lead the planning and execution of software, web, and AI-driven development initiatives aligned with the University s digital transformation strategy.
• - Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of university websites, portals, enterprise systems, and web applications.
• - Manage and optimize SharePoint environments and CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla), ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
• - Design and maintain scalable, modular architectures, and lead full-stack development using modern frameworks (e.g., Laravel, React, Angular), including the development of custom modules, plugins, and system integrations across LMS, CMS, and enterprise platforms.
• - Lead the development, deployment, and continuous optimization of LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle), including upgrades and performance tuning.
• - Design and implement AI-powered solutions, integrating AI agents and LLMs into institutional workflows to support personalized learning and decision-making.
• - Ensure interoperability, security, and data integrity across all digital systems and platforms.
• - Lead and mentor development teams, managing project timelines, deliverables, and structured development practices.
• - Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to translate academic and operational needs into effective digital solutions.
• - Support research, innovation, and initiatives related to AI and digital transformation.

Requirements:

• - Master s degree in computer science, software engineering or a closely related field (required).
• - Minimum of 10 years of experience in software and web development, including leadership roles.
• - Proven experience in LMS management (e.g., Moodle) and enterprise systems.
• - Experience in AI implementation, including LLMs, automation, or analytics systems.
• - Strong experience with SharePoint environments, including administration, workflow automation, permissions management, and integrations, along with CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla).
• - Experience in higher education or institutional environments is highly desirable.
• - Strong knowledge of programming languages and frameworks (e.g., PHP, Laravel, React, JavaScript, SQL).
• - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
