Technical Craft

• Decompose business problems into solutions with multiple interacting components, designing software that is testable, debuggable, and not easily misused

• Write code that captures the essential nature of the solution — flexible, reusable, efficient, and adaptable to changing requirements

• Ensure high code quality in reviews, set up best practices and coding standards, and foster an effective code review culture

• Independently resolve bugs and system issues during on-call, and proactively reduce toil and tech debt

• Bring an AI-first mindset to your work — actively leverage AI tools and assistants to maximize productivity, accelerate development cycles, and amplify your engineering impact

Leadership & Mentorship

• Serve as a technical lead for projects, defining and delivering well-scoped milestones

• Actively level up less-experienced team members through mentorship, guidance, and setting a strong example

• Build relationships across teams, proactively communicate and coordinate requirements with other engineering groups

• Contribute to interviewing and assessing candidates with advanced domain-specific and leveling interviews

  
  

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

These are non-negotiable. We need engineers who can hit the ground running with our stack and ways of working.

• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Python, Java, or Node.js

• Hands-on experience designing and building microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs

• Solid experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) including managed services, deployments, and monitoring

• Working knowledge of containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar) and automated testing

• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) including query optimization and schema design

• Experience with message brokers / event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS/SNS, Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ)

• Familiarity with caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) and CDN concepts

• Solid understanding of API security fundamentals: authentication, authorization, OAuth 2.0, JWT

  
  

NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

These will set you apart and accelerate your impact but aren't required on day one.

• Domain experience in e-commerce, retail, logistics, or similar high-traffic consumer platforms

• Experience with observability tooling (New Relic, ELK Stack, Datadog, or similar)

• Exposure to distributed tracing, structured logging, and SLO-based alerting

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi) or GitOps workflows

• Familiarity with payment gateway integrations, PCI compliance, or fraud detection systems

• Contributions to open-source projects or technical blog posts
