Roles & Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/strong> /p> <<
Principal Duties and Responsibilities<<
Develop and implement the strategic plan for the legislations function in alignment with corporate objectives and legal compliance.<<
Manage and mentor the legislation team to ensure high performance and professional growth./p> <<
Monitor the regulatory landscape and emerging legal frameworks impacting the organization and advise leadership accordingly./p> <<
Lead the drafting, reviewing, and updating of internal legislative and regulatory documents./p> <<
Ensure organizational policies, procedures, and operations are compliant with applicable laws and regulations./p> <<
Oversee the drafting and legal vetting of proposed laws, amendments, circulars, and regulatory frameworks./p> <<
Ensure all drafted material aligns with local and international best practices in lawmaking./p> <<
Identify legislative and regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organization from legal exposure./p> <<
Provide expert legal interpretation of laws, regulations, and rulings, including their implications on operations and strategy./p> <<
Oversee workload distribution and ensure timely delivery of legislative outputs./p> <<
Key Accountabilities/strong> /p> <<
Direct and control departmental projects to ensure project cycle completion and commitment to the company s guidelines and quality./p> <<
Ensure effective utilization of the department s allocated budget, and report accurately on progress and challenges manage all the department staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards./p> <<
Set performance objectives, provide the necessary support, evaluate team(s), and offer regular feedback on performance./p> <<
Provide clear top-down communication to employees and down-top feedback to the Executive Team./p> <<
Direct and control the department s staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards./p> <<
Comply with communication and information sharing/handling policy to ensure confidentiality of the information and comply with all relevant risk and information security procedures to ensure operating within the acceptable risk levels./p> <<
Direct the development and implementation of the department s policies, procedures, and processes covering all areas of the department s activities to ensure the fulfillment of all work requirements./p> <<
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and processes throughout the department in order to achieve the company s operational excellence./p> <<

Education and Certifications /strong> /p> <<
Bachelor Degree in Law or similar is required, Master Degree is preferred./p> <<

Knowledge and Experience/strong> /p> <<
8 + years of experience in legal, leadership role focused on legislation or regulatory affairs. Experience in a financial market, regulatory authority, or government entity is preferred.span> /span> /p> <<
