Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Solar Engineer is responsible for managing the complete electrical scope of the solar and battery installation project. The role oversees design, cabling, inverter setup, battery integration, and testing, ensuring all works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The position requires on-site presence for a minimum of one month to ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and supervise solar PV cabling, including correct sizing and routing.
- Perform string calculations and ensure proper connections of solar panels to inverters.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of inverters and their integration with the battery system (BESS).
- Ensure all electrical works comply with project design, technical specifications, and safety standards (HSE).
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during installation and commissioning.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and as-built drawings.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Required Skills & Experience
- Diploma or bachelor s degree in electrical engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 3 5 years of experience in solar PV electrical installation projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
o Solar panel string design & calculations
o DC & AC cabling, sizing, and installation practices
o Inverter setup, testing, and commissioning
o Battery system (BESS) connections and integration
- Good communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Ability to stay on-site for at least 1 month during the installation period.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Desired Candidate Profile
