Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations and maintenance activities of the solar farm to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Lead a team of technicians and contractors in the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of solar electrical systems.
- Monitor and analyze system performance data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with site management and other engineering teams to integrate solar power with existing mining operations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on system performance, maintenance schedules, and incident logs.
- Oversee the procurement and inventory management of electrical components and spare parts.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to junior staff and new team members.
- Support the planning and execution of solar farm expansion projects and upgrades.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in solar farm operations, electrical engineering, or renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience supervising teams in an industrial or energy sector environment.
- Strong understanding of photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, and electrical distribution networks.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in solar power plant operations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in using monitoring and diagnostic tools for solar energy systems.
- Willingness to work on-site in a remote or open-pit mining environment.
