Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Review and analyze satellite irradiation datasets, ground measurement data, and meteorological mast data for solar potential evaluation.

Conduct detailed Solar Resource Assessment (SRA) using tools such as Rated Power, PVsyst, PVsol, SAM, Helioscope, Meteonorm, SolarGis data, etc.

Prepare and validate energy yield assessments (EYA) and performance ratio (PR) studies for projects in pre-feasibility, bidding, and development stages.

Considering land, shading, losses, electrical design, and topographical aspects, perform batch simulation to optimize plant design, including DC & AC configurations, inverter sizing, cable sizing, module selection, and BOS design.

Conduct technical due diligence for project acquisition, financing, and investment evaluation.

Collaborate with EPC, OEMs, and consultants to conceptualize, select and finalize technical specifications, drawings, and designs for BOM / BOQ.

Prepare and review documents and scopes of work for EPC contracts, TA, LTA and OE.

Provide inputs during tendering for engineering scope, design compliance, and cost optimization.

Ensure designs are compliant with IEC, IEEE, and international PV standards.

Assist in equipment selection, sizing and optimization.

Review and approve designs and documents submitted by EPC contractors.

Review quality related reports (FAT, SAT, Performance reports etc) during project execution.

Conduct and support testing and commissioning process.

Benchmark performance of operational plants against design estimates and provide recommendations for improvement.

Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of operational plants.

Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-building in solar resource and PV engineering domain.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience 8-10 Years

Strong expertise in engineering innovation, Solar Resource Assessment, PV system and design optimization, and energy modelling.

Proficiency in software: Rated Power, PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, PLEXOS, Meteonorm, SAM, MS Excel (advanced), MS Project.

Familiarity with IEC & IS codes, MNRE guidelines, and international PV standards.

Strong analytical skills to interpret irradiance data, uncertainty analysis, and degradation studies.

Knowledge of grid integration aspects, electrical losses, and power evacuation constraints.

Ability to work in a cross-functional, multi-location team environment.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
